Hegra Performance Heavy Duty Telescopic Slides are manufactured to the highest quality in Germany. The FOB45 has 100% extension with heavy duty end stops. This is a heavy load/duty full extension telescopic slide (50-115kg/pair) suitable for a wide range of applications. At 550mm 1 pair has a full extension load capacity of 110Kg.
Specified where a slim slide is required or replacing a similar slide in the field. Used extensively on rugged duty electronics and military communications systems. Basically any rugged and demanding application where space envelope is tight. The manufacturing process is highly accurate and the slides benefit from hand fitted bearings which provide a slight pre-load and absolutely no play during a very smooth extension. With a height of 45mm and thickness of 20.5mm, this has a very high load to size ratio.
Prices are per single slide. Load ratings are given per extended pair. There are two slides per pair. Hegra slides are manufactured to order. Please allow 5 weeks for delivery.

19 Inch Racks
The industry standard for mounting electronic systems is the 19" rack, but small variations in size of the electronic units themselves can greatly affect the gap available for positioning a telescopic slide to carry the component. GSF's large range of products means that you can expect to find a slide to meet your requirements.
The high cost and sensistivity of the electronics being mounted means that the slide must be precision engineered to move with a moderate resistance and have a shock-reducing end-stop configuration - a free moving slide with a solid end-stop may result in shock damage to sensitive equipment.
Over-extension and lock-in / lock-out are features which will facilitate easier access for the purposes of maintenance and installation.

02. Hegra Performance
The Performance Range of slides is manufactured from professionally cold drawn steel sections. The quality of the section is the best available and the bearings are hand fitted to give a slight pre-load with minimal play in the beams. A poorly fitted cold drawn steel slide will suffer with bearing migration and other associated problems.

For the adaptation of coaches, trucks and trailers our heavier duty slides are generally required. Load distribution, method of operation and locking are crucial points for consideration when selecting components and designing such applications.
It is recommended that locking systems external to the slides are installed with secure lock-in and lock-out features to eliminate any risk of injury to members of the public using the adapted unit.
When selecting a model of slide based on its load capacity allowance should be made for the likelihood that the load may not be evenly distributed and where people are involved the load will be mobile and varying.

The use of telescopic slides or linear rails to mount train doors requires a product able to deal with both the dynamic loads and crash survival criteria that are inevitably relevant to train-based applications. In addition the components have to operate reliably and with low maintenance requirements over a very high number of repetitions. Doors on underground trains are required typically to open and close up to 20 times an hour day after day over the working life of the carriage.
To withstand such a high level of repetitions, the ball bearings and the associated ball track tracks need to be hardened to resist pitting and corrosion. Cold drawn steel slides also perform better over time, as the slide profile is less prone to long term profile deformation than is the case for cold rolled profiles.
Train operators are increasingly offering adjustable seating in first class passenger compartments. Simplicity and durability are key determinants of which linear rail and slide components will work successfully in ensuring that the seat operates reliably as intended and without a requirement for maintenance activity.
